Chef Saruj is self-taught and earned his 25 years of experience from owning his own Thai quick-service restaurant. It is called Chelsea Thai, located in Chelsea Market for 20 years.
Then he became a Thai restaurant startup consultant. He learned most of his cooking experience from the best teacher, his mother. His roots are home-cooking, comfort food, and street food style.
His latest position was Sous Chef at the Pierre Hotel.

The class was great! We loved that Saruj told us the story of pad Thai and explained all the ingredients very thoroughly. We had a great time cooking and the pad Thai tasted amazing. Would definitely do this again!

Saruj was the absolute best! The class was very beginner-friendly, with all the ingredients portioned out and ready for us to cut, prep, and cook. Saruj shared his personal experiences, made us feel comfortable as non-cooks, and immediately put us at ease. The recipe was delicious, and the portions were generous enough for us to take home leftovers!
