Chef Yanni transports you to the patisseries of Paris via Chicago with this classic French Macaron class!

Don your chef aprons, grab your whisks and lets get baking! In this fun and interactive class, you will learn the fine art to making these mouthwatering morsels filled with either rose pedal or pistachio fillings! Together with our classically trained Pastry Chef Instructor, you will demystify the making of these highly sought-after meringue-based sandwich cookies. Our Pastry Chef Instructor will take you through a detailed demonstration, before you will be guided step-by-step in replicating the process of meringue mixing, otherwise known as 'macaronage', piping, baking, assembling and of course, eating!

No experience is required! Chef Yanni will provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the baking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. This event is BYOB (one bottle per couple please).

Meet your chef instructor
Chef Yanni owes her talents to her years of study at the Culinary Institute of Mexico in Puebla, where she graduated as an international chef. Originally from Toluca, Mexico, she developed her culinary skills by experimenting with new flavors and trends that she discovered while traveling throughout her home country and across Europe. Chef Yanni gained priceless experience while working at the Ritz Carlton in Paris and at the Mayan Palace in both Acapulco and Cancun, in Mexico. She completed her culinary training at Ecole de Paris Patisserie Boulagere in Paris, France.

Where the class will be
Guest requirement
Guests are invited to BYOB wine, champagne or beer. One bottle per couple please. There is street parking available. Chef Yanni will meet you in the lobby of the building to take you either to her apartment unit or the communal space where class will be held, depending on the class size. Please be on time. Class will start promptly at 6:30pm and Chef Yanni will not be able to leave the class to let late comers in. Should you have an issue arriving to class on time please email hello@cocusocial.com.
Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

I thought the class was great, very hands-on. Chef Yanni shows you how to make macarons on a very personal level and she has you do everything. Macarons are hard to make but I learned so much that I want to start practicing right away in making the dough. And once I get the dough right I want to explore different flavors. Should be fun!
