Authentic Pasta Workshop: Handmade Gnocchi

Aah!, Gnocchi, these pillowy potato dumplings are in a pasta category of their own!

In this class you will learn how easy it is, and fun to prepare gnocchi from scratch. You will knead, form, and cook the gnocchi.  You will walk away with an understanding of the importance of the ingredients used and how to pick the best potatoes for making gnocchi at home.

Learn to master the recipe for handmade gnocchi in the most authentic way, from our Italian Chef Instructor.  Guests will learn to make a classic tomato and basil sauce through the chef's demonstration.  

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.  Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.

Meet your chef instructor
Chef Leo’s culinary journey began in 2013 when he helped organize Food Revolution Day in Caracas, Venezuela, part of chef Jamie Oliver’s global initiative. This experience ignited Leo’s passion for cooking, which grew as he explored Venezuelan, Italian, and Spanish cuisines, embracing their rich traditions and flavors. In 2014, Leo launched Canela Cuisine, where he fused Italian techniques—such as handmade pasta—with the bold flavors of Venezuelan and Spanish dishes. His collaboration with Arepas Cafe led to the popular Arepa Experience, where he taught others to make authentic Venezuelan arepas, while also honing his skills in classic Spanish dishes like paella and tapas. Through various roles in NYC’s food scene, Leo mastered every aspect of the restaurant world, refining his expertise in Italian, Venezuelan, and Spanish cuisine.

Guest requirement

Class will take place on the Terrace of the hotel.  The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment.  Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, but will be available for sale at the venue.  Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.  For any guests booked individually, if you are part of a larger group please email hello@cocusocial.com at least 48 hours prior to your class to confirm your full booking party size and the names of the others in your group.

Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

This event was alot of fun. The only issue we had which is not the chefs fault was the room was absolutely freezing and the hotel did nothing to make it better. Then it started to rain on us while we were making the pasta because they hold it in a 4 season room. The hotel was not accomodating at all. We asked for heaters and they said they could not put them in the room because then the electricity would go out. It was a Hilton for Gods sake. As far as CocuSocial the event was so much fun.

I absolutely loved it! The class was easy, fun and informative. Chef Leo was great and showed us a super easy recipe that I’ll definitely be making again at home. I will for sure book another class in the future
