Handmade Ricotta Ravioli

Description

The term "ravioulo" made its appearance in 1340, described as a dish filled with green herbs, cheese, and eggs.  Some 700 years later, the dish has become beloved in Italy and around the world.

If you love fresh ravioli but don't think you could ever replicate what you would find in an Italian restaurant, this class will prove you wrong. Our expert Italian Chef Instructor will teach you to make pasta dough from scratch.  After forming and kneading your dough, you will use a pasta machine or rolling pin to roll it out before filling your pasta sheets with a delicious and ricotta filling.  Pair your ravioli with a simple, yet authentic butter and sage sauce.  As an added bonus, your instructor is providing a delicious homemade Panna Cotta dessert for you to enjoy at the end of your meal.

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

Guests in the same booking party will work together throughout the class.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.  Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.

Meet your chef instructor
Tommaso was co-owner of the Italian restaurant TANTI BACI in NYC, before spending time in Peru to learn about Amazonian produce and agricultural practice. It was in Peru that he started the tomato sauce brand DUE AMICI, which is still being sold in Lima today. After moving back to NYC, Tommaso opened PROPRIO COSI, a company that will serve “on the go” organic food, with ingredients from local farms and businesses. He’s also the producer of the literary podcast FICTIONZ, a bimonthly series of premium narrative podcasts based on award-winning short stories and novels.

Guest requirement

Class will take place on the Terrace of the hotel.  The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment.  Drinks are NOT included in the ticket price, but will be available for sale at the venue.  Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.   For any guests booked individually, if you are part of a larger group please email hello@cocusocial.com at least 48 hours prior to your class to confirm your full booking party size and the names of the others in your group.

Cancellation policy
Reschedule request have to be made at least 48 hours before the class for groups of less than 6 people and 14 days for groups of 6 people or more. Cancellations are not permitted and tickets are non-refundable.See terms and policy.

Chef Tommaso was amazing!!! This is my first cooking class and he made me feel so welcomed and was extremely kind. You can see the passion and love for cooking and teaching he has! It was easy to follow along and also easy to replicate. His instructions were very clear and he was patient with all of us.
